Why Rebecca does this work.
I am the proud child of two small business owners—a veterinarian and a log home builder—and granddaughter, niece, and sister to many other small business owners. I share this because (1) the entrepreneurial spirit is strong in my genes, (2) I spent a lifetime watching those closest to me help others through their chosen professions, and (3) I know the joys and discomforts of a small business family. It was inevitable that I would start my own firm.
I went to law school to help people like my parents: hard-working, passionate, skilled individuals that are masters of their craft and need dependable, unpretentious legal counsel. While I was at law school, I found tax law super intriguing and learned how it impacts every aspect of a small business: from entity formation to growth decisions and employee matters to sales and marketing. I also realized that to serve small business owners, I would need to understand estate planning as the family assets can all be held within the business.
That's how I came to the beautiful trifecta of my service offering: business, tax, and estate. My clients range from professional service firms to construction companies, household employers (aka parents that hire a nanny) to educators and artists, individuals to every entity type you can name . . . corporation, LLC, S-corp, partnership, sole proprietor.
I seek to add value to my clients' business and personal lives. Let me share my knowledge, explain your options, and help you set a plan for moving forward. I completely understand that taxes and estate plans and hiring your first employee are all situations that can seem daunting, overwhelming even. Allow me to help you make this scary situation manageable. We can do this together.
I look forward to helping you in your next legal matter. Let me take your situation from overwhelming to manageable. However, do note that sending me an email or leaving a voicemail won't create a lawyer-client relationship, so please don't share anything confidential until we've confirmed I can help you with your matter.
Love + light!
In her words.
I get energized when I am educating individuals and business owners about the law, how it applies to their situation, and breaking down legal processes—such as forming a corporation, filing taxes, or creating an estate plan—into accessible steps.

Flanagan Legal Services LLC knows that finding the right attorney to represent you and your business is a choice not taken lightly. That is why we offer consultations to walk you through your needs, the scope of your goals, and your budget BEFORE you commit to a working relationship.
During the decade she worked at a Big Four firm and an international manufacturing company, Rebecca gained invaluable experience working on tax matters in jurisdictions across America—U.S. federal, U.S. states, local municipalities, Canada—and interacted with all forms of business entities: partnerships, corporations, LLCs. Rebecca's ability to see a problem and find a solution flows seamlessly from work to philanthropic endeavors. It is most evident in her many volunteer pursuits—running a free tax prep site for low-income taxpayers, volunteering with her sorority, offering free workshops for small business owners—and she continues to seek opportunities to add value to the lives of her neighbors. Rebecca stepped away from the corporate world to focus her work energies on adding value in her community, in and out of the office.
When not saving the world, okay making a positive difference in her corner of the world, you will find Rebecca either frolicking in nature with her husband and two sons (think hiking, camping, backpacking, snow sports, general adventuring!) or at home pursuing her love of cozy domestic tasks (like baking, sewing, gardening). An avid reader, she usually has two or three books queued up for reading.
